The Screen At Kamchanod 2008
The Screen At Kamchanod 2008 This horror movie is generally referred to, simply, as "The Screen".
Synopsis -
In 1987, organizers of a movie screening in the forest of Kamchanod in Thailand stumbled upon a chilling event. Even though it had been meant as a special event, they were curious as to why no one showed up. However, as the film was about to end, a group of people emerged from the forest and lined up in front of the screen, disappearing soon thereafter. The mystery audience became a legend, piquing the interest of a group of professionals 18 years later. The group theorized that apparitions would appear again if the same film reels were projected in the same location. However, the group gets much more than they bargained for when they re-create what happened on that fateful night in 1987.
Directed by Songsak Mongkolthong - Starring Achita Pramoj na Aydhya, Pakkaramai Pokranan and Namo Tonggumnerd.

Down The River 2004

Down The River
Down The River is a gay drama film. It is thought not to have been released via the Thai cinema.
As it was entered in a number of festivals and is aesthetically quite beautiful, I decided to add it to Best Thai Movies, despite indicating in the Forum, I wouldn't.
The reviews for the movie have been rapturous, and there is nothing in them suggesting this movie goes very far "romantically", if you get the drift. So, I feel it is reasonable for it to be represented.
Strangely, there seems to be no YouTube video on the Net, - but there is a video with English subtitles on Daily Motion.
Synopsis -
Krit is openly gay, his oldest and deepest friend, Win is questioning. They have grown up together. They are as close as two boys can be. The fact that one is gay means nothing to the the other.
As they have grown older, getting ready to separate for college, their love is coming to a test. Is it more than that of friends or is it something deeper?
Krit has fallen deeply in love with Win. He keeps a book of pressed flowers, a book of memories of the moments that they have shared. When the two finally explore their passion, what will be the result?
Originally made as a college graduate film by a 23 year old, "Down the River" is a daring exploration of friendship and intimacy seldom seen from Thailand. Shot it in the countryside, forests and temples of an ancient land the film is beautiful and sweeping more a tone poem than film. We can only hope that more will come from a film maker of this talent.

Power Kids 2009
Obviously kids, one wouldn't want to mess with! But they fight for the good of their sick brother, and Thailand.
This movie was in production for four years, though some reviewers question why.
Synopsis -
Teacher Lek has been teaching Thai boxing to a group of kids for their own self-defense.
He is like both teacher and father to the kids - Wuth, Catt and Pong. The three have to look after Wun, the dear little brother of Wuth, who has a heart problem.
Jib, a friend of the kids often hangs out with them and plays with Wun. One day, a group of hooligans disrupted their life. This caused a sudden heart attack to Wun who already had a weak heart and made it necessary for him to have a heart transplant urgently.
This brought them to the hospital which was attacked by an international terrorist group led by Peda. Unavoidably, they had to get involved in the hospital seige.
It was here that fierce fighting between the heroic kids and the terrorists took place, as the kids needed to save their little brother's life and help their country at the same time.

Art Of The Devil - Trilogy 2005
Art Of The Devil - Trilogy.
Certainly looks like a horror movie series, judging by the cover. And the comprehensive review certainly confirms it!
I am surprised that Art Of The Devil 1, 2 and 3 would fit on to one DVD and that all of them have subtitles, but it has obviously been done.
The vendor is an American one, and I note that most of the Thai movies, even Power Kids is claimed as being "uncut" and "unedited".
If anyone orders this trilogy, it would be appreciated if you would review it in the Best Thai Movies Forum on this site, particularly in regard to video and audio quality.
I haven't come across this Trilogy Edition before, and it is obviously at a very good price. I will not look for alternative suppliers, as there could not possibly be a better price.
Synopsis -
Part 1: When a millionaire spurns his pregnant mistress, she places a deadly curse on his entire family. Soon, each family member dies in a decidedly brutal fashion. The police are puzzled. But an observant reporter might be just the guy to unlock the mystery.
Part 2: When the reunion of seven souls commences, a haunting past binds the ring of friends in an evil world which is filled with black magic and doom.
What horror previously initiated now beckons revenge?
Part 3: At a small high school reunion, strange things begin to occur to the group of friends.
It is as though someone is using the black arts on them, in revenge for an act the group committed together back in their high school days.
