Yes, it has been around a few years, but it is one of the better movies Thailand has produced. I have had it for all of that time, and played it every now and then, always considering it a cut above most Thai movies, and one with a very unique storyline.
More than 100,000 people gather by the Mekong River in Northeast Thailand on November Full Moon each year.
After sunset, mysterious fireballs rise up from the river and disappear into the sky.
While the locals still adhere to the traditional myth of the dragon, Great Naga, making a sacred offering to Buddha, the Western visitors take a more skeptical stance.

The Sanctuary is an action adventure movie, remarkably from just last year. The reason being, it has been released in Thailand complete with English subtitles.
Synopsis -
In 1897, the “Poisoned Knife” clan broke into the royal palace of Thailand to steal the Royal Antiques which the King intended to give to America as a reward for its help in negotiations that avoided Thai territorial cuts.
The clan succeeded in stealing the antiques, but the thieves didn’t escape with their lives. Before their deaths, they hid the antiques somewhere close to the palace.
During his interrogation, the last bandit chose to end his life by Master Sawang’s sword and let the place where the Royal Antiques were hidden, die with him.
Now, Wisa (Winston Omega), the mafia boss whose ancestor masterminded the theft of the antiques wants to find them so he hires Patrick (Russell Wong), The Former Director of the U.S. military National Subterranean Exploration Unit, to search for the lost antiques.
Using US Army satellite scans, Patrick and Selina (Patharawarin Timkul), the beautiful and sexy assassin, retrieve them from beneath the Thai temple where Krit (Mike B ), Master Sawang’s great grandson and a gifted martial artist resides as a temple boy.
When they steal the antiques from the temple, it is down to Krit with the help of Paifah (Trai Charouenpura), an Archaeology student to retrieve them.
Together they fight against the powerful greedy group of thugs.
Will they be able to save Thailand’s national treasures?

Synopsis -
Psychiatrist "Krit" Anada Everingham is in over his head as he takes care of a troubled little girl while at the same time he finds himself dangerously in love with the girl's over protective mother "Ing-orn" Mai Charoenpura.
One night, the police department receives a call complaining about the screaming from a house. It seems like a sound of a little girl tortured by someone.
From there the police investigation starts. The police find Ing-orn, the 30-something land lady, just moving in with her 7 years old daughter, Pear.
The daughter appears to have a mental condition; she has bruises all over her body, which is more likely to be a subject of abusive behavior.
In the meantime, Ing-orn insists on not letting her daughter have a thorough check-up at the hospital. Yet according to parental law, she has to allow her daughter to see a psychiatrist.
This is the first time for Krit meets Ingorn and her daughter, Pear. Krit, at the same time, feels deeply sorry for the little girl as he sees fear and anxiety in her eyes.
During the therapy, Ing-orn mentions her daughter's paranoid delusions, while Pear claims that she is possessed by a spirit of a boy who haunts and hurts her.
From the fact the Pear is in the same age as Krit's son, Krit feels a deep connection with her, but the more he bonds with Ing-orn's family, the more he senses something eerie about the house.
Moreover, there's something inexplicably peculiar.
Ingorn's mood swing, Pear's strange upbringing and the mysterious fingerprint mark on Pear's arm.
All of this bothers Krid in many ways. But what caused this dilemma?
Only Krit has an answer for this twisted story.

Ya Nak 2009 - ghost horror movie.
Thai 3D movie when released in Thailand a few years ago, and a Malaysian re-issue became available in November 2009, also in PAL format.
There is nothing on the Net about this movie, other than there being plenty of torrent downloads.
However, the novel thing about this movie, is that it is in 3D. The torrent downloads all indicate this.
The Malaysian version profiled here does not indicate it is in 3D, but I checked with Sensasian.com, and they advise it is in 3D, and not in NTSC as the site seemed to indicate, but is all regions PAL.
A relatively short movie with a duration of about 76 minutes. Starring May-Patrawadee Timkul.
3D glasses are not supplied with the movie, - as my copy of the movie arrived today from K.L. Malaysia, in a slim box, - minus any glasses.
If you Google up "3D glasses" and will find you can buy better quality ones on-line than theaters offer. Plastic glasses with quality optics can be bought from an Australian supplier for $13.20 Au.
Now that I have the movie, I will improve on the synopsis on back of the box which barely makes sense. However, the quality of the subtitles on the movie are very good.
Synopsis -
The story of a "Ya Nak" (a sort of ghost). An actress who is famous for a starring role as "Ya Nak" dreams of having eternal love, just like Ya Nak.
Unfortunately her lover (an actor in the movie they are making) falls in love with another actress. And to make matters all the worse, she is raped by the Producer.
Pregnant to her actor lover, she aborts whilst acting as Ya Nak during shooting of the movie.
From that very day, her lover (she cuts his heart out), his other adulterer, the Producer and Director, all die mysteriously.
All accidentally, or the curse of Ya Nak?
The 3D depth of field is quite remarkable, - but you will be buying this movie because of it's novelty value and low price, rather than as a scary movie.

Ya Nak DVD with English subtitles - Best Thai Movies
Thai 3D movie when released in Thailand a few years ago, and a Malaysian re-issue became available in November 2009, also in PAL format.
There is nothing on the Net about this movie, other than there being plenty of torrent downloads.
However, the novel thing about this movie, is that it is in 3D. The torrent downloads all indicate this.
The Malaysian version profiled here does not indicate it is in 3D, but I checked with Sensasian.com, and they advise it is in 3D, and not in NTSC as the site seemed to indicate, but is all regions PAL.
A relatively short movie with a duration of about 76 minutes. Starring May-Patrawadee Timkul.
3D glasses are not supplied with the movie, - as my copy of the movie arrived today from K.L. Malaysia, in a slim box, - minus any glasses.
If you Google up "3D glasses" and will find you can buy better quality ones on-line than theaters offer. Plastic glasses with quality optics can be bought from an Australian supplier for $13.20 Au.
Now that I have the movie, I will improve on the synopsis on back of the box which barely makes sense. However, the quality of the subtitles on the movie are very good.
Synopsis -
The story of a "Ya Nak" (a sort of ghost). An actress who is famous for a starring role as "Ya Nak" dreams of having eternal love, just like Ya Nak.
Unfortunately her lover (an actor in the movie they are making) falls in love with another actress. And to make matters all the worse, she is raped by the Producer.
Pregnant to her actor lover, she aborts whilst acting as Ya Nak during shooting of the movie.
From that very day, her lover (she cuts his heart out), his other adulterer, the Producer and Director, all die mysteriously.
All accidentally, or the curse of Ya Nak?

Tigress Of King River 2002
The Tigress of King River 2004 is an action adventure movie.
Unfortunately there is no independent YouTube video of it on the Net.
Synopsis -
Set in early King Rama V era, former British soldier Peter Bain is busted for trying to sell defective firearms to influential Chinese merchant Yang.
Forced to hunt wild game with these firearms along with Yang’s men, Bain links up with ex-monk Wan and Karen-American hunter Julia, who he meets on the way to the jungle.
The group sets off to hunt an elephant, which is said to be protected by a ghostly tigress that can transform itself into a woman.
The tigress is supposedly possessed by the revengeful spirit of Nian, a woman who was tortured and killed in the King River Battle almost a century earlier.
As Wan learns more about the tigress myth, he tries to release Nian’s spirit, but Yang’s men want to destroy Nian and get the elephant.
With greed, resentment, and karma from past lives encircling the group, violence is surely around the corner.
Directed by Bhandit Rittakol - Starring Panu Suwanno, Prangthong Changdham and Sunisa Brown.

Synopsis -
The Thai traditional house was originally a Thai dancing school.
Unknown to many, a curse has been placed on the dancing school.
When Manote and Jariya, heirs of a millionaire, take over the house, they try to renovate the place and turn it into a resort.
They ask Ming, Jai and their close friend, Jenepop who is an architect to help them with the renovations.
Jenepop posseses a sixth sense, he feels something mysterious and invisible surrounding him all the time.
He starts getting visions of Thai female dancers and hears the sound of Thai music. All these factors add up and cause extreme fear in Jenepop who believes that bad things will happen to anyone who tries to change the house.
