Monrak Transistor 2002
Picture
Monrak Transistor
Monrak Transistor is a classic movie, at the time considered to be one of the best movies out of Thailand.

Even today, it is fondly remembered and loved by Thai movie aficionados.

The DVD front cover picture has been changed a number of times, perhaps depending on where released. However, the picture is the original front cover design.

The movie was directed by Pen - ek Ratanaruang, and the role of "Pan" played by Suppakorn Kitsuwan (also of "Sars Wars") and his sweetheart "Sadaw" played by Siriyakorn Pukkavesa.

The title of the movie "Monrak Transistor" is probably due to Pan giving Sadaw a transistor radio, which was at the time of their introduction on the market, and would have been very expensive.

The movie is set both in the city and a rural village. It is a bitter sweet, and also funny story of young lovers who become separated by circumstances.

Pan always aspired to be a professional singer, but is called up for compulsory military training, causing him to leave Sadaw, who has a baby to him.

Her father never did approve of Pan, and Pan tried everything tot win the old man over.

Pan goes absent without leave from the army, and for the rest of the movie is on the run, but becomes involved with a provincial fair singing troop and the promise of becoming a star.

Eventually he falls into petty crime and is imprisoned. On his release he returns to the village to seek forgiveness from Sadaw.

Get this movie before it is too late!

Picture
Hanuman The White Monkey Warrior
Hanuman The White Monkey Warrior is a movie set back in time before Siam became a kingdom. Thai tribes were beginning to settle the land they had moved into.

As a consequence there were invading tribes who tried to conquer the land for themselves and they massacred all who stood in there way.

However, amongst the Thai tribes, there was a priest, who secretly began to collect pictures of animals from all over the known world.

He created drawings from the pictures and compiled them into a book. Using a spell, he gave the book supernatural powers.

The book was given to two trusted head tribesmen. They were given the task of having tattoos of the animals imprinted on the tribes people, so they could fight their enemies with supernatural strength.

When the land returned to peace, the book was divided up and the sections given to trusted disciples to care for. The contents of the sacred book must not fall into the hands of anyone seeking absolute power.

Time passed and the sacred book fell into the hands of rivals, who were invincible.

But when the pieces of the book collide, the blood battle of the super animals begins.

The movie was directed by Sakchai Sriboonak and stars Sornram Theppitak, Odette Henriette, Yardtip Rajpal, Damian Mavis and Anton Kalin.
